Book Description : I am a beast. A beast. Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog, but a horrible new creature who walks upright - a creature with fangs and claws and hair springing from every pore. I am a monster.
You think I'm talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It's no deformity, no disease. And I'll stay this way forever - ruined- unless I can break the spell.
Yes, the spell, the one the witch in my English class cast on me. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night? I'll tell you. I'll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy you wished you were, with money, perfect looks, and a perfect life. And then, I'll tell you how I became perfectly beastly.
My Thoughts : This is the third book version of the "Beauty and the Beast" I've read this year. I just can't seem to get enough of it !
This book is a modern day version, and a very good one at that.
It's witty, sarcastic and full of hard love.
And there were this "dialog", in between chapters that I thought it was quite interesting. A conversation with all the fairy-tale characters who transformed into something different. And they were having a session with a certain Mr. Anderson. haha
I thought it was quite funny.
I also read this within 6 hours, it's a very easy read and if you like the "Beauty and the Beast", I really think you should give this book a try.
And they have made a movie out of it !
I've only noticed yesterday that it was already on theatre on July 2010, which is great. I think I'll check it out soon when it comes out in DVD.

I love this book! So much so that I have given away two copies of it on blog so other's can enjoy it. I have to agree that I also love other Beauty and the Beast novels like Robin McKinley's Beauty and her Rose Daughter. I can't wait to see the movie!
I glad you also love the book.
I just re-saw the clip and realized the bling man is Barney ! that's ... interesting ! lol
More the reason to see the movie !
I enjoyed reading this book. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite, and to get to read a story from the Beast's point of voice was a treat.
I have not seen the movie but plan to. I enjoyed your review---I did not realize until you said it the significance of "Mr. Anderson"! This was such a sweet book, I really enjoyed it.
